The ‘Granaries of Memory’ is a research and teaching project aimed at preserving traditional oral and gestural culture. It is a complex and advanced multmedia archive available online, meant to gather interviews with farmers, fishermen, workers, artisans, and entrepreneurs, which have been carried out during long and in-depth field researches. The goal of the essay is to illustrate, after many years of archival development and experimentation, the scientific value of the collection of hundreds of life stories and witnesses both as an original and path-breaking model of documentation and intepretation, and as a significant teaching tool at the university level.

Abstract
