The paper presents a TBLT teaching unit for beginners learning Latin in sec- ondary schools. The teaching proposal is based on the comic book Donaldus Anas atque Nox Saraceni, the first Disney story translated into Latin. The text represents an example of translation as a mean to build up a bridge between the classic and the modern world. Promoting the use of Latin as a language for everyday commu- nication, it offers rich stimuli to teachers aiming at working on grammar and word rule formation in the Latin classroom. Through tasks, students actively explore the text, compare Italian and Latin linguistic structure, developing both metalinguistic awareness and reading-comprehension skills.
