Sprechstunde im DaF-Bereich: eine kommunikative Form im Wandel

This paper examines two new digital forms of the university office hour in the field of German as a Foreign Language (DaF): the video office hour and an AI-simulated office hour. Key features of the virtual office hour are identified and analysed by comparing it with the prototypical face-to-face office hour. Based on this, the study explores ChatGPT's potential for simulating authentic office hour interactions.
