The article offers an analysis of pronominal adverbs in da(r)-, i.e. those forms of German that have a two-part structure, consisting of a deictic element and a prepositional part (e.g. daran=da(r)+an). The study privileges a contrastive and didactic perspective, proposing a comparison with Italian and observations in the context of teaching German as a foreign language. In particular, the paper observes the treatment of pronominal adverbs in teaching manuals and describes the results of a study on Italian-speaking learners of German.
