The paper suggests the term tridacna as a conjecture for the entry ΚΟΝΚΙΛΙΑ †Tricali, which can be found in capitulum Περὶ ἰχθύων / De piscibus of the Hermeneumata Vaticana, and for the expunction of the following entry ΚΝΙΔΗ Vertica. The term conchylia used as a hypernym, along with the absence of other occurrences of the term tridacna, except for Pliny’s Naturalis Historia (XXXII 63), contribute to the hypothesis that at least the terms included in this ichthyonomic section had been originally compiled in Latin, only to later be translated into Greek.

Abstract
The paper suggests the term tridacna as a conjecture for the entry ΚΟΝΚΙΛΙΑ †Tricali, which can be found in capitulum Περὶ ἰχθύων / De piscibus of the Hermeneumata Vaticana, and for the expunction of the following entry ΚΝΙΔΗ Vertica. The term conchylia used as a hypernym, along with the absence of other occurrences of the term tridacna, except for Pliny’s Naturalis Historia (XXXII 63), contribute to the hypothesis that at least the terms included in this ichthyonomic section had been originally compiled in Latin, only to later be translated into Greek.File in questo prodotto:
