The following dissertation aims to investigate the internationalization of family firms by filling some research gaps that emerged from recent literature reviews on the topic. The dissertation is made up of three articles. The first article is exploratory and aims to cover the lack of studies exploring the involvement of family millennials in the internationalization of family businesses. In particular, it investigates the relationship between family millennials’ involvement and export intensity. The second article is conceptual and seeks to grasp the fragmentation of results about how family firms internationalize with equity-based entry modes when entering a foreign country. Last, the third article is qualitative and aims to explore and understand how family values affect family firm internationalization.
