Educazione civica e formazione della cittadinanza a scuola : che istruzione, per quale democrazia?

It is the aim of this thesis to address the question of how to transmit to young students the legal andsocial values embedded in our democratic constitution.The reason for this research is to test the most suitable methods for speaking and above all forreasoning around the themes of democracy starting from the first grades of education.Talking about these topics with teachers and children was an opportunity.Since educating kids means to give them the opportunity to learn the basis of our democracy and inso doing to shape the future generation of a democratic citizenry, it becomes especially important toidentify the best tools to achieve that end. It is throughout the civic education teaching that the Italiansystem has the opportunity to find the right way to do so. In this thesis, therefore, I explore somepaths through which to convey few democratic values conceived as universal, in order to enable theItalian students to become citizens of the world.
