Objective: This report aimed to present the diagnosis and management of a neurofibroma of the palate. Material and Methods: A 23-year-old female patient was referred for the assessment of an asymptomatic intraoral lesion located on the palate. Her past medical history was unremarkable. Results: Histopathological examination revealed mucosa covered with stratified squamous epithelium, while lamina propria presented spindle cell proliferation with undulated nuclei, arranged in in a disorganized fashion on the fibrous connective tissue. Examined cells were immunopositive for protein S-100. A diagnosis of neurofibroma was performed. No recurrence was observed during 48 months of follow up. Conclusion: A thorough clinical examination by dental professionals is fundamental to identify and treat neurofibromas. Neurofibromas, although rare, should be considered in the differential diagnosis of hyperplastic lesions of the oral cavity.
