Epopeya y novela corta: la historia de Lijerea y Armeno

The article aims to highlight features shared by epic and short novel in verse. On the one hand, it identifies some metric, linguistic and stylistic traces that the epic leaves in the short narrative in verse; on the other hand, it analyzes in detail the narrative structure and ideology of an episode of Cristóbal de Virués's Monserrate (as well as of the other digressions that surround it), in the balance between epic battles and novelesque vicissitudes. El artículo pretende resaltar rasgos compartidos por epopeya y novela corta en verso. Por un lado, individúa algunas huellas métricas, lingüísticas y estílisticas que la poesía épica deja en la narrativa breve en verso; por otra parte, analiza con detalle la estructura y la ideología novelescas de un episodio del Monserrate de Cristóbal de Virués (y de las demás digresiones narrativas que lo rodean), en el equilibrio entre hechos bélicos y peripecias romanzescas.
