«Dell'eccellenza delle Leggi Mosaiche». Riflessioni sull'accoglienza settecentesca del modello politico ebraico

This article intends to investigate the use of the Jewish political model in Eighteenth century. Many studies have explored the paradigm of the Hebrew Republic in Seventeenth century, yet scholars have generally used the end of that century as the terminus ad quem of their research due to incipient Enlightenment. Conversely, I intend to go beyond this final chronological reference and analyze how the Hebraic regime was used in Italian and French Eighteenth century in response to the Enlightenment critiques, becoming a valid political archetype.
