With stricter European regulations towards sustainable production systems, industries increasingly need user-friendly solutions to streamline reporting. There is growing interest in tools integrated with existing management systems to merge LCA with sustainability reporting results. This article presents a research case-study of the Italian branch of an international manufacturing company. Following carbon footprint studies at both product and organizational levels, the company seeks to implement a tailored solution to speed up sustainability accounting. The discussion will cover possibilities, and development progresses towards a web-tool.
